Therapies for Women
“It is my life mission to empower women to discover their innate ability to heal themselves and harness the power of nourished hormones."
I've been traditionally trained in the science of diet and nutrition, receiving my Master of Science and Registered Dietitian degrees from Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. Realizing the limitations of traditional treatment for many aspects of wellness, I sought out extensive training in the field of Integrative Functional Medicine. I have completed Advanced Practice Modules from the Institute of Functional Medicine and am an Integrative Functional Nutrition Certified Practitioner from IFNA. Learning feeds my curiosity and keeps me engaged and up to date in this ever-changing and evolving field.
Dr. Aviva Romm's Women's Functional & Integrative Medicine Professional Training Program provided a life-changing opportunity to gain insight into women's health and the impetus to follow my passion: Women's Health and Wellness. After spending 10 years as both a practitioner and researcher, working alongside health professionals at Duke University Medical Center and at the Durham VA, I am now launching a healing program for women.
Being a mother of two (adult) children, a spouse, as well as a friend and a colleague, as many of us are–we often carry an extra burden and guilt between family and professional life; and face unique health issues that are sometimes overlooked by today’s healthcare system, understudied in research, and ignored by our doctors. As women, we may experience pregnancy, birth, miscarriage and menopause. We sustain deep heartache with life's ups and downs. As women we have experiences that affect us deeply and, in turn, those experiences affect our health and well-being.
It is from this vantage point that I seek to help women reach optimal wellness. At our roots, I am inspired by the power of food to heal, to bring people together and to make remarkable changes in one's health.
Join me for a conversation about food, about travel, about your health and wellness goals. I hold this space for you to feel empowered, to feel safe, to feel heard, and to feel respected.

I believe in...
I believe in women. I believe in the power of our body's innate ability to heal.
I believe in the power of Food as Medicine as the foundation for wellness and healing.
I believe in approaches that are grounded in science, not just in hopes. I apply science-based principles within the Integrative Functional Medicine framework; a practice that evaluates your body and mind as a whole system and seeks to identify and address root causes of undesirable conditions and symptoms that you are experiencing.
We begin by evaluating your diet, lifestyle, sleep, exercise, and stress that prevent you from achieving optimal health. Often, awareness and a few simple shifts in your behavior can have a dramatic impact on your wellness.
I offer a fresh, in-depth approach for women living with the challenges and symptoms of chronic disease including a deep focus on mental wellness.
We are partners in this process. To this partnership, I bring skills in the art of health coaching and the science of Positive Psychology. These skills integrate seamlessly with dietetic expertise.
We will explore the total ecology of your health, which includes the environmental impact on well-being.
